Why Should You Take This Stormwater: Quantity And Quality Control Webinar?
Learn the ins and outs of stormwater management, specific to quantity and quality control, in this 1-hour Stormwater: Quantity And Quality Control webinar. Students will be introduced to the topic of stormwater pollution and the impacts it has on the environment, our economy and infrastructure, and our quality of life. The webinar will discuss the two ways in which stormwater must be controlled, quantity and quality, and the strategies used to achieve both. Applications covered include greenroofs, pervious pavement, bioswales, rain gardens, cisterns, constructed wetlands, and retention ponds. The course will conclude with several real life examples of stormwater control measures used within LEED certified buildings.
Upon completion of the webinar, students will understand the effects of stormwater pollution, and will be able to analyze the requirements for effective stormwater quantity and quality design. In addition, they will be able to identify technologies and strategies applicable to multiple project types in order to develop stormwater management plans to address quantity reductions and quality improvements.

very informative on LID's low impact designs.
one of my biggest questions she did not answer was the impact of concentrating pollutants into these LID and whether these areas will become legacy issues for future generations.
we have already seen that when high urban areas like Ft Worth, TX have concentrated pollutants into given areas these areas became heavily contaminated beyond what nature can handle and in turn have created bigger problems ..... obviously not all LID will have these problems but some do in Hot Spost and we need alternatives to organic solutions for the HOT SPOTS of our culture. gas stations, truck stops, bus terminals, down town areas, heavy traffic intersections, so on..... these areas do not always occur in High Urban areas so alternatives to these may be needed.
Quality in extreme situations can not always be solved by organic and natural processes and we need to propose mechanical means to resolve some issues but still these are never brought up in these forums! WHY???? there are Low impact mechanical designs that these areas can incorporate. Audrey W.
