Why Should You Take This Minimum Program Requirements of LEED Webinar?
This course on Minimum Program Requirements provides crucial information that every potential LEED project must comply with in order to become certified. This course will provide guidance for different building types covering minimum square footage requirements, occupancy rates, and descriptions to assist the project team towards compliance.
Students will be introduced to the topic of why Minimum Program Requirements are important and why we should focus on project compliance as a first step toward LEED Certification. The course will discuss the importance of meeting each Minimum Program Requirement as it refers to the different LEED Rating Systems. Upon completion of the webinar, attendees will be able to describe several strategies to achieve compliance for a LEED registered project seeking certification, and be able to compare the difference between a Minimum Program Requirement versus a Prerequisite or Credit.

Jean again did a wonderful and thorough job in presenting the Minimum Program Requirements of LEED. Topics she touched on included prerequisites to prequisites in order to even have a project be considered for LEED, such as complying with environment laws, having a reasonable site boundry, minimum occupancy rates, and being commited to sharing whole building energy and water use data. As usual Jean described these in an easy to process step by step basis and used great graphic examples to help better get the picture of Minimum Program Requirements. Jane E.

Class was great, but it's a little daunting to see how many requirements/regulations overlap with other regulations. Sometimes I think it would be a bit cumbersome to figure out which rules/MPRs apply to a project. I definitely think more time could be spent on this topic. Liza H.

Jean Cipriano has a Bachelor's degree in Interior Architecture. She is a member of ASID, and is a LEED AP. Jean has been the principal of her own firm for over 25 years and has consulted on projects for major corporations and universities. She always infuses her work with awareness and regard for the environment, and applies this philosophy toward the inhabitants of the buildings and spaces she designs. Even before becoming a LEED AP, these were her priorities in planning. Jean has instructed adults in all aspects of Interior Architecture, seeking to initiate, create and advance the philosophy of sustainability. Her intent is to bring awareness to the subject of sustainability and to integrate it into all of her opportunities as an instructor.
Jean enjoys spending time with her family, hiking and kayaking. While enjoying her time outdoors she's usually accompanied by her family and canine friend - a beautiful Westy named Sky.
