If you are just beginning your career in green building or if you are not currently a LEED AP, the LEED Green Associate Accreditation is for you! LEED Green Associate is the introductory-level credential under the Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) program, and is awarded by the U.S. Green Building Council after passing the credentialing exam. This credential demonstrates a general understanding of all of the LEED rating systems and corresponding green design strategies.
Our LEED Green Associate exam prep webinars provide an introduction to green building and sustainable design principles, specifically as they relate to USGBC's LEED green building rating system. It prepares individuals to pass the LEED Green Associate exam on the first try, and is the first step in becoming a LEED professional.
Our webinars are LIVE in real-time and 100% interactive. Students can digitally raise their hand to ask questions, address the whole room via chat, or select individual attendees to communicate with.

1) The Green Associate Exam Handbook contains over a dozen separate documents and resources that are considered "primary sources" for the exam. This seminar combines the most important information from these resources into an accessible, comprehensive workshop, creating a focused and organized study path for exam candidates.

3) USGBC requires you to pass the LEED Green Associate exam before you can become a LEED AP. It is recommended that those seeking to become a LEED AP should start with this training course to gain a base level of knowledge before proceeding to the more technical LEED AP+ exam material.
Overview:
The purpose of this course is to familiarize the individual with the required information for the LEED Green Associate Exam as a supplement to individual preparation. We begin with an overview of sustainability and the integrated design process and then proceed to detail the individual areas of focus. Real world project examples are used throughout the day and the instructor will organize the complicated green building strategies into a simple & easy to follow dialogue. The session concludes with an introduction to computer-based testing, and a road map for study preparation.

Taking the LEED Green Associate Exam
After you attend the course we recommend reserving 20 hours of additional study time to review and take the provided practice exams. Once you feel ready to take the actual exam you will register for the LEED Green Associate exam with the U.S. Green Building Council. The exam fee is $200 for USGBC company members ($250 for non-members).
The exam is taken in-person at a Prometric Testing Center, and appointments are available 6 days a week, year-round. There are 100 weighted questions, multiple choice, and a passing score of 170 or higher out of 200 points is required to earn the credential.
Maintaining Your LEED Green Associate Credential
Once you pass the credentialing exam, candidates must renew their credential every two years under the LEED Credential Maintenance Program by completing 15 hours of LEED continuing education and paying a renewal fee.
Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED)
LEED was developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) as a green building rating system used to recognize buildings and developments that are designed, constructed, and operated in a sustainable way. LEED Certification is awarded to outstanding green building projects, and individuals can earn a LEED credential to designate their expertise in the LEED rating systems.

Jean was very helpful for me and guided me through the LEED subject manner at a steady pace and gave ample time for any questions that needed to be answered. As a word of advice for future students be very careful when reading the questions and look out for the choose 2 and choose 3 questions, as they can be very tricky. Sometimes you even have to choose 4! I would highly recommend taking a course instructed by Jean whether you're a slow or fast learner. George M.

While it was nice to review the content of the book, I don't particularly feel like I've learned much at all about the test itself or the material. The bulk of the course was reading through the power point presentation that mirrors the participant book provided exactly. Having taken prep exams before and noticing the tricky nature of the exam, I hoped for more clarity on how to prepare for those questions more than knowing the core of factual information/reading through content. It was ok overall but I don't feel I've gained anything. Ailar S.

As this was my first webinar, I did not know what to expect when I enrolled. I read a review that stated it was merely a regurgitation of the accompanying slides. For my part, my investment in this class was beyond beneficial. I took advantage of the interactive format and asked MANY questions, and Jean's thoughtful answers provided me what I needed to not only understand the material better, but also to gauge how I needed to develop my personal study program. Jean was very professional and had both a clear passion for the material and a desire to impart the certification syllabus to enhance our understanding. I consider this course as one of the best educational investments I've made since attending college. Jean Cipriano has a Bachelor's degree in Interior Architecture. She is a member of ASID, and is a LEED AP. Jean has been the principal of her own firm for over 25 years and has consulted on projects for major corporations and universities. She always infuses her work with awareness and regard for the environment, and applies this philosophy toward the inhabitants of the buildings and spaces she designs. Even before becoming a LEED AP, these were her priorities in planning. Jean has instructed adults in all aspects of Interior Architecture, seeking to initiate, create and advance the philosophy of sustainability. Her intent is to bring awareness to the subject of sustainability and to integrate it into all of her opportunities as an instructor.
Jean enjoys spending time with her family, hiking and kayaking. While enjoying her time outdoors she's usually accompanied by her family and canine friend - a beautiful Westy named Sky.
