On March 26, 2012, OSHA announced its long anticipated final rule to update the current Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) in the United States to the internationally standardized United Nations' Globally Harmonized System (GHS). By updating to the new HazCom 2012 standard, the U.S. will be adopting a single, internationally unified approach to classifying chemical hazards, warning labels, and organizing information on safety data sheets. Employers are required to train workers by December 1, 2013 on the new label elements and safety data sheet format, so come learn about the GHS standard today!
