Director of Design

Amble Resorts is seeking a licensed architect with extensive experience, impeccable design abilities, and strong management skills to become our 'Director of Design', responsible for all aspects of design within our resorts. Responsibilities: The person hired for this position will be responsible for all aspects of design within Amble Resorts, from overarching design philosophy to management of individual projects, and will be in charge of both an in-house design team and outside consultants. Some examples of responsibilities include:

• Oversight of multiple resort projects, from inception through facilities management after completion
• Management of the design process, from concept to CDs and construction administration
• Coordination with design consultants, contractors, project managers, hotel operations, etc
• Insuring design and marketing messages are in line, translating brand promises into architecture

Requirements: This position requires a licensed architect with superior design skills and extensive management experience. In addition, the ideal candidate has:

• A professional university degree, license to practice, and LEED accreditation
• Minimum of 8 years of professional experience
• Extensive knowledge of construction methods, and some hands-on construction experience
• Excellent capabilities in project management and written and oral communication
• A passion for design and an entrepreneurial spirit

Reports to: President

Compensation: $75,000 - $90,000, with additional performance-based incentives
