If you are just beginning your career in green building or if you are not currently a LEED AP, the LEED Green Associate Accreditation is for you! Green Associate is the introductory-level credential for LEED, and demonstrates a general understanding of all the LEED rating systems. Our LEED GA seminars provide an introduction to green building and sustainable design principles, specifically as they relate to USGBC's LEED green building rating system. It prepares individuals to pass the LEED Green Associate exam on the first try, and is the first step in becoming a LEED professional.

Why should you attend this seminar?

1) The Green Associate Exam Handbook contains over a dozen separate documents and resources that are considered "primary sources" for the exam. This seminar combines the most important information from these resources into an accessible, comprehensive workshop, creating a focused and organized study path for exam candidates.

2) While Green Associate accreditation is not necessary for existing LEED AP's, all AIA members who attend our Green Associate Seminar will receive 8.0 HSW credits (4 of which satisfy the Sustainable Design requirement)! Non-AIA members can use our certificate of completion for self-reporting the 8 contact hours of instruction.

3) Green Education Services' Green Associate Seminar is an interactive, intimate and intense collaborative learning experience including analysis of real-world examples of LEED principles and certified projects; study techniques that will help you become exam-prepared in as little as 20 hours; supplementary study materials; on-going phone/email support from your instructor until your test date; and more!

Overview:

The purpose of this course is to familiarize the individual with the required information for the LEED Green Associate Exam as a supplement to individual preparation. We begin with an overview of sustainability and the integrated design process and then proceed to detail the individual areas of focus. "Real world" project examples are used throughout the day and the instructor will organize the complicated green building strategies into a simple and easy to follow dialogue. The session concludes with an introduction to computer-based testing, and a "road map" for study preparation.

I found Kim to be very knowledgeable on the class material and her presentation was very good. I think the course booklet could be improved to include better graphics.

By Jane E. - Attended class on June 14, 2013

Kimberly was great. She kept the course lively and was very personable. Seems like she has a real depth of knowledge in all things LEED.

By Charles S. - Attended class on June 14, 2013

The course was well done and informative.. Kimberly presented the course with charm and humor and did not make it a drudge.
Unfortunately, while the program was certainly well done, I realized that the session did not provide sufficient information to make me feel comfortable with passing the LEED exam. Besides, I do not like multiple choice exams since I spend more time in analyzing the questions.....200 questions 145 minutes to respond!

By Shaina P. - Attended class on June 9, 2013

Kimberly was such an awesome instructor. She was energetic and fun. She is extremely knowledgeable and made the class easy to understand.

By Whitney V. - Attended class on June 9, 2013

Great class! The instructor was very comfortable with answering all of our questions she encouraged us to ask. The instructor was very knowledgeable about the information and gave many real life examples of the different ways to earn LEED points on a project. One thing I wish we did was analyze the way the exam asking the questions as in the wording and ways to tell what its asking for. Some of the questions are tricky just simply based on wording. Besides that is was a great experience! I would definitely recommend this class to a fellow designer/architect.

By Todd T. - Attended class on June 9, 2013

very professional, personable, and thorough

By Juan S. - Attended class on June 9, 2013

Kimberly is a very good instructor. She was able to get through a great amount of subject matter in one day's time and keep the class engaged.

By Agnieszka H. - Attended class on June 9, 2013

Each participant received a printout of the powerpoint, a pen, and a set of flashcards if opted to purchase one upon arrival.
There was coffee/snacks and lunch served. Frequent breaks in the afternoon ensured alertness of the students.

By Jeanne F. - Attended class on June 9, 2013

Great job bringing life and enthusiasm to an important topic.

Knowledgeable, engaging.

The time went by much faster than I expected!

By Michael W. - Attended class on June 6, 2013

She had good positive energy, she was knowledgeable about the subject and interacted well with the class. I enjoyed the fact that she was open with discussions and did not just read from an outline or played videos, she actually taught!

By Aileen D. - Attended class on June 4, 2013

He was awesome.

By Edward B. - Attended class on May 16, 2013

very good environment
instructor was knowledgeable

By Julie C. - Attended class on April 17, 2013

Jean was professional and lively and had an excellent grasp of the material. She gave us plenty of opportunities to ask questions and have discussions.

My only suggestion relates to the handbook itself NOT JEAN. My handbook was actually missing some content and several pages were poorly rendered.

By Katherine S. - Attended class on April 17, 2013

Jean is very passionate about what she teaches.

I was very pleased and learned something I was completely clueless about LEED. I was volunteered by my General Manager to attend as our hotel is a Gold Leed Seal hotel. Now we needed a rep

Because Jean's passion is contagious, I caught the Leed bug

Thank you!

By Ana C. - Attended class on April 17, 2013

Class was a little long. It could have been broken down to a 2 or 3 day review. The teacher was excellent with deep interest in her teaching along with being very knowledgeable to things that pertain to the meterial. Overall a great course to take if your looking to pass and have a better idea for what the L.E.E.D green associates is all about.

By Susan K. - Attended class on April 12, 2013

Enjoyable and informative class. Lisa was personable and easy to discuss things with and explained things well. I'm looking forward to my next LEED class.

By Robert P. - Attended class on April 11, 2013

I'm looking forward to attending the next session on preparing for my AP Exam with her as the presenter / trainer.

By Catherine S. - Attended class on April 10, 2013

Overall, Kimberly demonstrated a vast knowledge base in the LEED rating system and conveyed that knowledge with enthusiasm. She has provide the class with the necessary tools and techniques to become LEED GA certified and the next steps to take in order to become LEED AP certified. Kimberly was engaging with her questions and answers and created a comfortable learning atmosphere, through her method of breaking the ice with the class. The next step Kimberly could take is to keep everyone on track with the learning content. It was a pleasure to have met Kimberly and believe she is a valuable asset to the company.

By Sandy C. - Attended class on April 10, 2013

Kimberly is by far, one of the best instructors I have ever had. Her effervescent personality and her enthusiasm about the material kept the students focused. She was concise and she used many meaningful examples to explain and support concepts. Kimberly was also careful not to assume we knew even basic definitions. Quite often she would stop and ask ,"Does everyone know what this means?"... before continuing. I got a lot out of this course and highly recommend both the course and this amazing instructor.

By Darrell H. - Attended class on April 10, 2013

Very knowledge and handled questions professionally.

By Gary B. - Attended class on April 10, 2013

Good environmenht, comfortable, well informed. A 10 hour corse timetable might be better.

By Christopher M. - Attended class on April 10, 2013

I found the course to be very informative, so much so that it was a bit overwhelming, though I believe that was more an issue of the make up of the class participants than anything else.
I would recommend the class in the future for others in my company.

By Tyler D. - Attended class on April 4, 2013

Mark was awesome. A very downtoearth guy with tons of knowledge just waiting to share it with students. He was passionate about the subject and had a broad understanding of it. I would take another class with him if given the chance.

By Keranie T. - Attended class on April 4, 2013

Mark was a great tutor who was very knowledgable and excited to share his expertise with the students.

By Toni C. - Attended class on April 4, 2013

Kimberly is an awesome instructor. She provided very clear and concise information on LEED GA exam prep. I will definitely benefit from attending this seminar. It was very informative.

By Barb H. - Attended class on April 4, 2013

I would give Kimberly a 5 out of 5. Very informitive and held interest as the day is long and alot of information to cover. I would recommend Kimberly for training.

By John M. - Attended class on April 4, 2013

She was awesome

By Marline C. - Attended class on March 29, 2013

By Phil P. - Attended class on March 28, 2013

This class overall was very good. We reviewed all course material within the textbook provided. Our instructor stopped every once in a while and made sure any questions, comments, or concerns were addressed. This class was packed with information regarding LEED and I took notes as needed to prep for the exam. I plan on taking the exam soon so hopefully everything goes well.

By Kevin G. - Attended class on March 28, 2013

The class was over all a very enjoyable experience. The atmosphere was calm and comfortable. The instructor was knowledgeable and had useful experiences that she used to relate to course material.

By Christopher O. - Attended class on March 28, 2013

I thougt the class was very professional and well thought out. It seemed to cover all of the general topics of the LEED process and structure, and some I didn't even know from previous LEED projects I've been involved in.

I'm hopeful that the course gave us a good example of what the test structure will be, but that is to be determined. I look forward to hopefully passing and obtaining my Green Associate accredidation and then continuing with LEED AP training in the same manner.

By Jeff B. - Attended class on March 28, 2013

The class was a great overview and the instructor was well prepared. Lisa used a lot of real world examples that helped explain many of the concepts. Good course overall.

By Donell S. - Attended class on March 21, 2013

Great class. Great Teacher. Thanks Lisa, Kate & Rachel!!!

By Julie M. - Attended class on March 21, 2013

Class was good but was mostly just reading through the slide that were handed out. Could have used more hands on work through the material to help get a better understanding.

By Connie R. - Attended class on March 21, 2013

Lisa was very knowledgeable and presented the class with ease.

By Glen B. - Attended class on March 15, 2013

Lisa is clearly excited about LEED, which is very motivating. She presented the material in a clear and easy to understand manner.

By Anthony D. - Attended class on March 13, 2013

Instructor was very good. Allowed us to express our thoughts. Class was not very big, only about 7 people. I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 only because of the speed.

By Stan S. - Attended class on March 13, 2013

Very good presentation Jean is very knowledgeable

By Nicholas V. - Attended class on March 13, 2013

Great day and well worth my time

By Katherine C. - Attended class on March 13, 2013

Very clear overview of the GA exam contents. Jean was very patient and answered all of the attendees questions as we worked our way through the materials. The GreenEdu flashcards, which I bought, go into even more depth and detail. Seems like a good idea to use the flashcards to reinforce the material covered in the 1day course.

By Lilia B. - Attended class on February 22, 2013

Kimberly is a very professional and knowledgeable instructor you can tell how easy she handle every aspect of the class. Her speach habillities allows her to reach out her audience. The course should be at least double of the time so she would able to cover more deeply in some topics.

By Henry L. - Attended class on February 22, 2013

Kimberly reviewed all the material providing clear and accurate reports and opinions. She made sure that everyone understood all the material covered during the day. I left satisfied with the information I received.

By Dale N. - Attended class on February 22, 2013

He was an excellent instructor with loads of experience, high energy and very thorough

By Andrew D. - Attended class on February 22, 2013

Needs to focus more on subject matter and less on personal environmental 'pet pieves' and political opinions

Better time management morning session had too many digressions into unrelated stories resulting in afternoon session being rushed

By Matt C. - Attended class on February 15, 2013

Great stuff!

By Paola A. - Attended class on February 15, 2013

The instructor seemed prepared and made the most of it but the course is too long and should be broken up into two days. The topic is not difficult but the information is harder to digest as the day goes on.

By Oscar M. - Attended class on February 15, 2013

Kimberly was a very good instructor. I really did enjoyed her class very much.
